The population is expected to reach almost ten billion people by 2030 and securing sufficient supply of quality food in an efficient and responsible way is critical. Plant transformation is a key step in introducing novel traits that can improve our ability to provide sustainable food sources, particularly in row crops. Introducing new traits and gene-editing technology adds complexity to the transformation system and requires extensive research and innovation. We are looking to collaborate and support innovative scientists that can help us feed a growing planet.
The intent of this project is to enable research towards developing new plant transformation technologies for row crops, particularly monocots.
