Catalysts for Infant Health Equity

NOTE: This is a Forecasted Opportunity.

The purpose of the Catalyst for Infant Health Equity program is twofold: to continue to reduce overall IM rates in the US and to bring the rates across disparate groups closer together by achieving steeper declines for groups with the highest rates. Catalyst awards will support the implementation of innovative action plans to prevent infant deaths and reduce disparities in infant mortality within the states and communities that have large disparities and the highest numbers of excess infant deaths that need to be prevented to achieve equity. Award recipients will implement action plans that contain data-driven policy and systems strategies, and include cross-sector state, local, and community partnerships. This differs from past approaches, which have generally focused on individual and behavioral interventions. HRSA expects to make awards to five states and five communities to implement these plans.
