Disability and Rehabilitation Research Projects (DRRP) Program: Traumatic Brain Injury Model System Centers

The Traumatic Brain Injury Model System Centers provide comprehensive, multidisciplinary services to people with traumatic brain injury (TBI) as a prerequisite for conducting research that contributes to the development of and access to evidence-based TBI rehabilitation with the ultimate goal of improving the health and function, community living and participation, and employment outcomes of people with TBI. TBIMS Centers generate new knowledge through site-specific research projects, collaborative projects, and contributions of data to the TBIMS national longitudinal database. Grants will have a 60-month project period with five 12-month budget periods.

Eligibility Requirements

States; public or private agencies, incuding for-profit agencies; public or private organizations, including for-profit organizations; IHEs' and Indian tribes and tribal organizations.

To be eligible for a TBIMS grant, an applicant institution must provide a multidisciplinary continuum of care for people with traumatic brain injury (TBI), including emergency medical services, acute care services, acute medical rehabilitation services, and post-acute services.

Award Ceiling: $490,000 Per Budget Period

Award Floor: $440,000 Per Budget Period

Length of Project Period: 60-month project period with five 12-month budget periods
