Discoveries in Safety Grants

Funding Agency:
UL Research Institutes

UL Research Institutes (ULRI) Discoveries in Safety Grants Program funds research that aligns with our mission of building a safer and more sustainable world. Through an open and competitive process, ULRI funds scientific discovery across focus areas that align with our institutes and offices and address our three grand challenges: (1) Building resilience for a sustainable future, (2) Advancing individual and societal health in the 21st century, and (3) Promoting safety at the human-digital interface.

Discoveries in Safety Grants fund research across a number of safety science focus areas, as directed by our Institutes and Offices. These focus areas span chemical safety; digital safety; electrochemical safety; fire safety; materials discovery; and research experiences and education. Specific topic areas are announced through notices of funding opportunity (NoFO) at the beginning of each grant cycle.
