FY2023 U.S. Embassy Tokyo: Clean Energy Tech Entrepreneur Exchange

Funding Agency:
US Department of Agriculture

U.S. Consulate General Sapporo’s Public Affairs Section announces an open competition for organizations to submit applications to carry out Clean Energy Tech Entrepreneur Exchange.

Though Japan’s national and subnational governments have set ambitious climate and clean energy goals, reaching them will require innovation in the private sector.  As Secretary Blinken has said, “Every country on the planet has to do two things – reduce emissions, and prepare for the unavoidable impacts of climate change.  American innovation and industry can be at the forefront of both.”  We want to connect emerging Japanese innovators with their U.S. peers to hopefully spark new ideas and potential start-up initiatives.

This cooperative agreement program will provide a group of around five Japanese entrepreneurs, engineers, tech developers and other innovators with an interest in renewable energy solutions the opportunity to travel to the United States to connect with established companies and entrepreneurial ventures.  The U.S. Consulate General in Sapporo will coordinate with the implementing grantee organization to recruit participants and help to shape the ultimate travel program.
