To commemorate the 75th Anniversary of U.S.-India relations, U.S. Embassy New Delhi, with support from U.S. Consulates in Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai, and Hyderabad, will conduct a digital marketing and food diplomacy activity showcasing shared American and Indian culinary traditions. The activity includes the visit of a renowned American chef to travel to five cities in the New Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai, and Hyderabad consular districts. Through a contracted media production company, the individual will participate in a recorded video series that showcases local and traditional Indian dishes/cuisines that incorporate “fusion” U.S.-origin foods ingredients. Content will include at least one recording featuring a high-level representative of the U.S. Embassy and each Consul General (CG), who will participate in food preparations with well-known local chefs, as well as the visiting American chef.
Through this activity, the U.S. Mission in India seeks to further strengthen and advance its strategic partnership with India, improve people-to-people relationships that plant the seed for greater appreciation of both India and U.S. cultures, and highlight the importance of food and the blending of Indian fusion cuisines through the secondary objective of promoting U.S. food product sales.
