The Harrington Prize for Innovation in Medicine, presented by the American Society for Clinical Investigation and Harrington Discovery Institute, honors a physician-scientist who has moved science forward with achievements notable for innovation, creativity and potential for clinical application. Each year one Harrington Prize recipient is chosen. The prize includes:
- An unrestricted $20,000 honorarium
- The Harrington Prize Lecture, delivered at the AAP-ASCI-APSA Joint Meeting
- Participation in the Harrington Discovery Institute Scientific Symposium
- A personal essay, published in the Journal of Clinical Investigation

Eligibility Requirements
- MD or MD/PhD (or equivalent)
- Does not need to be an ASCI member
- No age or citizenship requirement
- Self-nomination is not permitted
- Must be available to deliver a lecture at the AAP-ASCI-APSA Joint Meeting
- Must be available to participate in Harrington Discovery Institute Scientific Symposium
- Must submit a personal essay for publication in the Journal of Clinical Investigation
