Office of the Under Secretary of Defense (OUSD), intends to award non-research cooperative agreements (CA) to help manage and sustain Department of Defense (DoD) land in the United States. The DoD Legacy Resource Management Program (Legacy Program) funds high priority national and regional natural and cultural resources projects that enhance conservation objectives and support military readiness.
The Office of the Secretary of Defense/Office of the Under Secretary of Defense (Acquisition and Sustainment) (OUSD(A&S))/Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense (Energy, Installations and Environment) (OASD(EI&E))/Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Environment and Energy Resilience (ODASD(E&ER)) manage the Legacy Resource Management Program (Legacy Program). Previous projects have created guides, systems, reports, and other deliverables addressing topics including climate adaptation for natural and cultural resources management, prevention and control techniques for invasives species, wildlife and habitat management recommendations, nationwide contexts and frameworks for evaluating historic properties, development of predictive models for natural and cultural resources management, approaches for improving tribal consultation and cooperation, various trainings and workshops, and educational and outreach materials.
