The Literate Village
USAID/Egypt is issuing a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NFO) for a holistic and integrated literacy intervention targeting women, especially mothers, and children in rural and marginalized communities in the governorates of Beheira and Sohag. Depending on the measurable results of programming, and on the availability of funding, USAID/Egypt may also consider extending the intervention initiated in Beheira and Sohag to communities in the governorate of Assiut. Respondents to this NFO should present proposals for expanding interventions to needy communities in Assiut in years three and four of their operations.
USAID anticipates that the program resulting from this NFO will be funded for a maximum of $17 million dollars, and will have a maximum four-year period of performance (2016-2020). USAID/Egypt intends to make a single award of a cooperative agreement in response to this NFO, contingent upon a high likelihood of achieving USAID’s desired literacy outcomes.
Deadline: Oct. 10, 2016
U.S. and non-US organizations may participate under this NFO.
