Metastatic Breast Cancer Patient Education: Navigating Treatment & Decision Making

Pfizer Global Medical Grants (GMG) supports the global healthcare community’s independent initiatives (e.g., research, quality improvement, or education) to improve patient outcomes in areas of unmet medical need that are aligned with Pfizer’s medical and/or scientific strategies. Pfizer’s GMG competitive grant program involves a publicly posted general Request for Proposal (RFP) that provides detail regarding a general area of interest, sets timelines for review and approval, and uses an internal Pfizer review process to make final grant decisions. Organizations are invited to submit an application addressing the knowledge gaps as outlined in the specific RFP.

Projects that will be considered for Pfizer support will focus on educating patients with HR+/HER2- metastatic breast cancer and their caregivers on how to:

o access up-to-date, accurate and credible information related to their diagnosis and treatment options (including clinical trials) from trusted resources such as American Cancer Society, National Cancer Institute, National Comprehensive Cancer Network Patient Guidelines, Patient Advocacy Groups, etc.

o optimize interactions with their healthcare team

o plan for and engage in shared decision making with their healthcare providers, to ensure inclusion of the patient’s own goals

All activity types (e.g., live, print, online) will be considered through this RFP, but we are particularly interested in innovative, technology-enabled solutions that will help patients living with HR+HER2- metastatic breast cancer increase their understanding of and participation in their care plan.

Grant Application due date: November 2, 2020
