Millennium Promise Awards: Non-communicable Chronic Diseases Research Training Program (NCoD) -- Notice of Intent to Publish a New Funding Opportunity that will Reconfigure and Consolidate the Program

The Fogarty International Center (FIC) announces its intention to reconfigure and consolidate three FIC international research training programs into an International Research Training Award Program for Non-Communicable Diseases and Disorders (NCD) (D43). The Millennium Promise Awards: Non-communicable Chronic Diseases Research Training Program (NCoD) (PAR-08-175) will be one of the programs that will be reconfigured and consolidated into the new NCD program.

There are two reasons for this consolidation:

  1. Need to align these programs more closely to the Fogarty International Center strategic plan and address the shifting global burden of disease and disability (http://www.fic.nih.gov/about/plan/strategicplan_08-12.htm);
  2. Desire to place a greater emphasis on training across the research continuum including basic biomedical, clinical, translation and implementation science for NCDs.

The details of this consolidation will be described in a future Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) for this consolidated program.

APPLICATIONS ARE NOT BEING SOLICITED AT THIS TIME.
