Naval Research Laboratory -- NRL Long Range Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) for Basic and Applied Research

The Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) is the Navy's corporate laboratory. NRL conducts basic and applied research for the Navy in a variety of scientific and technical disciplines. The research conducted at NRL is a broadly based multidisciplinary program of scientific research and advanced technological development directed toward maritime applications of new and improved materials, techniques, equipment, systems and ocean, atmospheric, and space sciences and related technologies. Although NRL conducts most of its research programs within NRL facilities and associated warfare centers, NRL intends to fund research conducted with educational facilities and industry partners which are related to specific topics included in this BAA announcement. NRL requests white papers for long-range Science and Technology (S&T) projects which may offer advancement and improvement potential for Navy and Marine Corps operations. This announcement emphasizes NRL’s broad role in the competitive funding of meritorious research across a spectrum of science and engineering disciplines. Eligibility Requirements

All responsible sources from academia, industry and the research community may submit proposals under this BAA. Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Minority Institutions (MIs) are encouraged to submit proposals and join others in submitting proposals. However, no portion of this BAA will be set aside for Small Business or other socio-economic participation. All businesses both small and large are encouraged to submit proposals and compete for funding consideration.
