This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) supports Phase IIB (R44) Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) grant applications from small businesse concerns (SBCs) to conduct validation studies and accelerate the commercialization of promising environmental health science-related sensor technologies developed in previous Phase II grants or contracts funded by NIH or other federal agencies. The goal of this program is to demonstrate sensor data quality, tool reliability, and usability under real-world conditions in order to transition to more wide-spread adoption and commercialization of these sensor technologies in environmental epidemiology studies, community-based studies, and other public health intervention efforts.
