North Carolina Coastal Resources Law, Planning, and Policy Center -- Research Law Fellowship

Funding Agency:
North Carolina Sea Grant

The Center’s Research Law Fellowship program gives law students with practical experience in environmental law and policy, with a coastal and marine focus. The program also provides students with legal research and writing experience.

The fellows act as research assistants to the co-directors. Research law fellows conduct research and write memoranda on natural resource, ocean and coastal law issues.

The Center’s law fellows also have the opportunity to write for professional publication. Publication opportunities can be articles for the Center’s newsletter Legal Tides or in a law review. Law review articles can focus on topics tailored to the law fellow’s interest, though they also must be relevant to the Center’s mission and focus on a natural resource, ocean or coastal law issue. Law fellows are encouraged to pursue this endeavor, should they express an interest in obtaining publication credits.
