Payloads and Research Investigations on the Surface of the Moon: Stand-Alone Landing Site-Agnostic (ROSES 2024)

This Payloads and Research Investigations on the Surface of the Moon (PRISM) program element solicits proposals for Stand Alone, Landing Site Agnostic (SALSA) investigations that includes development and flight of science-driven individual instruments that will be delivered to the lunar surface by the Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS). This PRISM call is for science investigations that will be delivered to the lunar surface together with other NASA-developed hardware no earlier than 2028ful proposals will identify science investigations that do not require a specific landing site on the lunar surface to address the full scope of science proposed. This PRISM call does not provide the opportunity to leverage survive-the-night services, sample acquisition or mobility services provided by the CLPS vendor.  

This PRISM call is issued by SMD; thus, the proposed investigation shall primarily address SMD's objectives for the Moon. However, investigations that additionally address 1) objectives of the Exploration Systems Development Mission Directorate (ESDMD), and 2) any technology demonstration goals of the Space Technology Mission Directorate (STMD) that advance capabilities for science, exploration, or commercial development of the Moon are also welcome.
