Research Grants

Each year, the National Psoriasis Foundation (NPF) awards grants and fellowship that fund work focused on the treatment, prevention, and cure of psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis (PsA), and comorbidities.

As a primary goal in the current strategic plan, leading transformational research in psoriatic disease, NPF chooses research projects not only for their potential to yield information that may help treat psoriatic disease, but also to answer basic questions about the underlying disease mechanisms, comorbidities and public health.

Applications are due by Jan 31, 2025.

 

Areas of Interest

Available Funding Opportunities:

Discovery Grants: Discovery Grants allow researchers to undertake preliminary and proof-of-concept studies.

Early Career Research Grants: Early Career Research Grants support graduate students and postdoctoral researchers training to conduct psoriatic disease research independently. The goal is to put recipients in a position to compete for larger grants in the future and be in a strong position to establish successful, long-term careers within the psoriatic disease research field. 

Psoriatic Disease Research Fellowships: Support eligible institutions to develop and enhance the opportunities for physicians training for research careers in dermatology and rheumatology.

Translational Research Grants: Support projects that advance basic science discoveries studies into treatments that can benefit patients with psoriatic disease.

Bridge Grants: Support researchers who have submitted meritorious but unfunded K-type (career development) and R-type applications to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), or similar funding body, with a focus on psoriatic disease or related comorbidities. Deadline: Nov. 2, 2023; April 2, 2024
