RFI: Leveraging Data within the Federal Interagency Traumatic Brain Injury Research (FITBIR) Informatics System to Identify Actionable Insights for the Diagnosis, Management and Treatment of TBI

Funding Agency:
Department of the Army

The purpose of this RFI is to gain information for the secondary analysis of previously collected TBI data that is housed within FITBIR.

The Federal Interagency Traumatic Brain Injury Research (FITBIR) was developed through a collaborative effort between the USAMRMC and the National Institute of Neurological Disease and Stroke (NINDS) in an effort to advance neurotrauma research to include diagnosis and treatment capabilities of TBI patients. FITBIR contains  a large amount of new, high-quality, and reproducible TBI data spanning from neuroimaging, clinical assessments, genomics and other TBI data types that enables researchers to (1) utilize a common platform for standardization of data elements, definitions, tools, and outcome measurements, (2) apply bioinformatics solutions to data collection, storage, access, and analysis and (3) share de-identified data and collaborate on scientific research studies including comparative effectiveness research studies on optimal treatments and diagnostic tools.
