Strengthening the Capacity of Faith Based Organizations (FBOs) in Accelerating a Comprehensive and Integrated Approach to Providing HIV/AIDS/TB/STI Care, Treatment and Prevention Services in Zambia under the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief

The ultimate goal of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to attain sustainable HIV epidemic control in Zambia by: a) reducing new HIV infections, b) reducing morbidity and mortality among adults and children living with HIV, and c) strengthening health systems. Activities from this FOA will strengthen service delivery at FBO supported facilities in priority districts while building capacity at national and sub-national levels to enable full transition to the Government of the Republic of Zambia (GRZ). The awardee will be required to implement a core package of prevention, care, treatment, and laboratory services in geographic locations and among populations that have been prioritized based on their HIV burden; this will result in reduced HIV transmission and improved quality of HIV care. The awardee will be required to ensure continuum of care through effective linkages between community and facility services with documentation of HIV clinical outcomes. The awardee will be expected to implement cost efficient capacity building models and strengthen health systems of FBOs at the facility, community, district, and provincial levels. To ensure cost efficiencies and program effectiveness, this FOA will support activities that encourage country ownership and invest in country-led plans that build sustainability; with the goal to fully transition country ownership and invest in country-led plans that build sustainability; with the goal to fully transition USG support to the GRZ for continued and independent service provision and capacity building.
