Strengthening Law Enforcement’s Partnerships with Women’s Justice Centers

The United States Department of State, Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs, is seeking applications from qualified Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), Educational Institutions and other qualified organizations for a Grant/Cooperative to implement a two (2) year program entitled “Strengthening Law Enforcement’s Partnerships with Women’s Justice Centers” by the implementation of six iterations per year of a seven day study tour program for 12 participants each for a total of 12 study tours for 144 participants. 

Each study tour will include international and local scheduling, interpretation and translation services, lodging and air and local daily transportation in two locations in the U.S. for twelve Mexican participants focused on sharing best practices on programming to prevent gender based violence.

The study tours will provide high-quality training on and exposure to the medical, forensic, legal and social approaches multidisciplinary approaches to domestic violence (DV) and sexual and genderbased violence cases (SGBV); and facilitate interdisciplinary dialogues among criminal justice and allied professionals about U.S. best practices in responding to DV and SGBV and their potential application within the context of Mexican efforts to improve response to DV and SGBV.

This project is intended for professionals in the criminal justice field, including judges, prosecutors, and police managers working on women’s access to justice, including personnel assigned to the various Women’s Justice Centers throughout Mexico.
