PepsiCo is seeking new technologies to minimize the perception of a salty taste in beverages containing electrolytes.
PepsiCo is open to a range of collaboration types, but the technology should be available for scale-up within the next 3 year.
Solutions of interest include:
- Taste advantaged salts (less salty than NaCl), other mineral ingredients, or blends that can mask/balance saltiness
- Encapsulation/plating technologies to reduce the perception of saltiness
- Ion exchange/ion binding to remove salty tasting anions
- Salt receptor blockers
