U.S. Mission to India -- Training workshops for women entrepreneurs working in the green business sector

This funding opportunity seeks to identify and train at least 40 women entrepreneurs running green businesses from the states of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Odisha. Through three workshops, the grantee will enable participants to gain access to new funding and development opportunities, thereby increasing their businesses’ sustainability and resilience.

This program should recruit a pool of women (21-40 years) working in green businesses and invite them to two-day preliminary workshops. The top 20 participants from these workshops will then be invited to a three-day follow-on workshop. These workshops will encourage peer learning, collaboration opportunities, mentor-mentee connections, and local networking among the participants, all in a supportive atmosphere run by, and for women entrepreneurs. Participants should be exposed to best practices that they can adopt to scale-up their businesses and seek further funding and marketing opportunities. The grantee will conduct a post-training mentorship program, and track participant outcomes.  Specifically, the project will focus on the degree to which participants accessed new funding after the workshops.  As a part of the project, the grantee will track participants’ performance for a period of six months post the workshops.

Project Goal: This project aims to empower women entrepreneurs with tools required to scale-up  their business, expand their networks, and access funding opportunities to create sustainable and impactful green businesses. In the long term, a) more women will be seen in green business sectors, and b) such socially responsible businesses will positively impact environment and climate.
